Privacy Policy

What we collect

• When you visit the site: standard server logs from our hosting provider (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time). We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on the public site.
• When you book a consultation: the booking form runs on Calendly. Calendly collects your name, email, phone and anything you type in the form, under Calendly's own privacy policy. If you use our email fallback, your email program sends us the same details.
• When you use the calculator or the "See your options" questions: the numbers and answers stay in your browser. We do not receive them unless you choose to book.
• When you create a dashboard account: your name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash), and, if you sign in with Google, your Google name and email. We never see your Google password.
• What you put in the dashboard: property details, loan and lender details, hardship information, income and expense figures you enter, documents and photos you upload, letters you draft, notes, deadlines and progress. You decide what to add. We only use it to run the dashboard for you.

How we use it

To provide the service you asked for; to contact you about your consultation or account (for example a password reset or a reminder you turned on); to keep the service secure; and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Who else sees it

Only the services we need to run the site, each bound to use data solely to provide their service to us: Cloudflare (hosts the public site and protects the domain), Hetzner (hosts the dashboard server, in Germany), Calendly (bookings), Google (sign-in, if you choose it), Zoho (our email), and the AI provider that drafts hardship letters when you ask for one (your request text is sent to generate the draft and is not used to train models). We will disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

AI-drafted letters

When you use the hardship letter tool, the details you enter are sent to an AI service to produce a draft. Read every draft before you use it. It is a starting point, not advice.

How long we keep it

Dashboard data stays until you delete it or ask us to close your account. Backups are kept for 30 days and then roll off. Booking records follow Calendly's retention. Server logs roll over within 30 days.

Security

The site and dashboard use HTTPS. Dashboard sessions use a secure cookie. Passwords are hashed. Uploaded files are stored on our server and served only to your signed-in session. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at once if you believe your account was accessed without permission.

Your rights (California)

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can close your dashboard account at any time. Email [email protected] or call (619) 485-8484; we answer within 30 days and will not treat you differently for asking. We do not sell or share personal information as those words are used in California privacy law, so there is nothing to opt out of.

Cookies and local storage

The public site stores your language choice and whether you closed a notice, in your browser only. The dashboard uses one session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.

Children

The site and dashboard are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for dashboard users, post a notice in the dashboard.
